Berufsbeschreibung

Fault-Management (Fehlermanagement) ist ein Funktionsbereich, der alle Aufgaben zur Fehlervorbeugung, Fehlererkennung und Fehlerbehebung in einem Netzwerk umfasst.

Die TechnikerInnen beschäftigen sich hier mit der störungsfreien Aufrechterhaltung des Betriebes von Kommunikationsnetzen. Durch die stete Beobachtung des Netzes (Monitoring) und der angeschlossenen Systeme versuchen sie rechtzeitig Änderungen in den Netzparametern zu erkennen und daraus Rückschlüsse auf zu erwartende Fehler zu ziehen. Die TechnikerInnen analysieren Störungen, beseitigen Fehler und koordinieren umfangreichere Entstörungsmaßnahmen.
